I finally found some good info on Strega witchcraft! I'm so happy about all the interesting stuff I'm gonna share with you! Finally, someone with the truth. The Strega trad is shrouded in the bright cheery Wiccan way of doing things. However, the real faith is very different. There are those that follow Aradia, as She is meant to be followed, and make no secret of Her needs or theirs. Then there are your more, subversive sect, still following Aradia as she should be followed, but with one subtle difference - YOU NEVER KNOW TILL IT HITS YOU!!!!!!!
Stregheria is the Craft of the Italian Witches known as La Vecchia Religione. It's an ancient system, steeped with History that dates back to the 14th century. They are the descendants of an ancient people who used Moon Lore, Poppets, Herbs, Incantations, Spells, and Spirits to work their magick.
Stregheria resembles Wicca in that both systems are Goddess based. However, that where the simularities END. If you ask a Stregherian what they believe they will tell you that they accept the duality of both a female and male God. For some part, this is true, for the most part it couldn?t be farther from the truth. In reality, most all are female, and worship only the Goddess. There are many Goddesses, but the Mother and the one they call on when they have a new servant is ARADIA. In most cases, in order to lull their prospect for service into a sense of - desire, Aradia is cloaked in the mists of the Wiccan Goddess - Diana.
As a TRUE follower of Aradia, I am very tired of surgar coating my faith. It is time for those that follow this ancient and truly useful trad to stand and except who they follow and why. So, here I am and here I?ll stay - to dispell any doubts and answer any questions. For those of you who are now running for cover behind your closed closet door I say - move into the light and into the truth. Aradia will protect you. Go forth and treat the Mother as she deserves.
